Adirondack Park, NY Fall Colors 2009

The 2009 fall colors are just starting, so today we are taking a scenic fall drive up Powley Road into The Adirondack Park in New York for pictures of this years autumn foliage.

We thought this photo of the fall colors reflecting in this
pond in the Adirondack Park was very pretty.

This stand of trees was sporting some gorgeous red autumn foliage.
It was the best batch of trees we found this early in the season.

This spot had not turned colors yet but the reflection in the creek was beautiful.

A picture of one of the many nice free camping spots
along Powley Road.

We are on State Land in the Forest Preserve of New York. See the round sign? This spot is a designated camping spot. You can camp here for 3 days absolutely free of charge. The free camping sites are scattered all along Powley Rd. Each free campsite has a nice fire ring, they are primitive campsites however, so no picnic tables, no toilets, no running water so BYO!

  2. Its not the idea of fun and leisure at campsites which make the camping interesting but its the nature which make it fun loving.
